Alliance for Justice, Advocacy & Humanitarian Intervention Foundation (AJAHF) is a registered non-profit organization with a mission to address human suffering resulting from injustice, through facilitation of access to justice for vulnerable indigent citizens and promotion of rule of law in Nigeria.

 

Established in 2009, we strive to be known for addressing injustice and human right abuses, advancing human rights, conflict resolution, supporting prisoners, refugees and IDPs, targeted advocacy, accurate fact-finding and impartial reporting often in partnership with our strategic partners and human rights groups within and outside Nigeria. 

 

Our Vision

To positively influence and improve criminal justice system in Nigeria, facilitate access to justice and advocate for victims human rights abuses especially against the indigent and the vulnerable including humanitarian assistance.

Our Mission 

Our mission is to defend human rights, advocate for improvement in Nigeria criminal justice system, defend the vulnerable from injustice, and deliver humanitarian interventions to victims of injustice.  

 

Our Objectives

Our cardinal objectives includes the following;

i. Aggregate through alliances and affiliations professionals in various fields for the support and defence of weak and vulnerable members of the society.

 

ii. To advocate for human rights, proper administration of justice and positive order.

 

iii. To raise alarm againsts perversion of positive order, injustice, human rights infractions, corruption and other vices in the society.

 

iv. To assist the poor and underprivileged using levies, donations and grants from donor agencies.

 

v. To assist both materially and spiritually in the reformation of prison inmates.

 

vi. To assist in the rehabilitation of those out of prison.

 

vii. To sensitize the citizenry on general interest developments.

 

viii. To hold public officers and public institutions, especially service institutions, to account.

 

ix. To generate inputs into national discourses and even set agenda for positive social engineering.

 

x. To do any other thing within the ambit of law for the protection of humanity.

 

Our Strategies

Our strategies includes but not limited to investigating wrongs, exposing the facts and offering solutions. We put the experiences of victims of injustice and conflicts at the heart of our work, and we recognize that many aspects of the existing structure and practices within the Nigeria criminal justice system compound exclusion for disadvantaged, indigent and vulnerable citizens. Specifically at AJAHF we;  

 

  • Seek to protect and promote human right for everyone especially indigent folks that are most vulnerable to exploitation and abuse.

 

  • Engage with the public to uphold the rule of law and advocate for victims of injustice and abuse as well as work closely with people claiming their rights or defending it.

 

  • Render humanitarian interventions/support to victims of injustice, abuse and conflicts (refugees & Internally Displaced Person [IDPs]) in collaboration with our partners.

 

  • Pressure officials in the corridors of power in Nigeria to respect human right and rule of law as well as lobby Nigeria law makers to develop and implement policies and procedures that improves our criminal justice system, promote/facilitate access to justice by vulnerable & indigent citizens.

 

  • Intentionally cultivate and maintain healthy strategic partnerships with organizations and institutions locally and internally for maximum impact.
